Bulgaria has a consistent and unchanged position in the recognition of the victims of Srebrenica and participated in all initiatives related to their commemoration. This is written in a statement to the media by acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev.
"The dynamics of the implementation of the diplomatic service and the formation of a position is connected with many “working“ options that constantly evolve in the process of forming the national position of our country. The official position is important, and it is reached after opinions of experts from the relevant structural units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which include various communication channels.
The letter distributed to the Permanent Representation of Bulgaria to the UN in New York does not contain the final instructions to Ambassador Lachezara Stoeva,", the position also says.
According to the caretaker prime minister, the documents leaked on the Internet are only part of the decision-making process and they do not represent its entirety. This only creates ground for speculations, interpretations and manipulations on the subject.
The official government categorically dissociates itself from any attempts at suggestions related to a change in the geopolitical orientation of Bulgaria. With its actions, the government proves every day that our country steadfastly follows its European path and perspective.
