Probably Russia's war against Ukraine is costing the Russian Federation between three and four billion dollars a month. This is what the economic expert and founder of the Institute for Market Economy, Prof. Krasen Stanchev, said on the air of Euronews Bulgaria.
According to him, Russia reports a decrease in the export of goods by about 30%, and the export tax is a major factor in financing the war.
Russia loses about $11 billion a year just because people flee or desert the army. This is the direct damage to the gross domestic product and the budget of the Federation. There are also expenses of the order of one to three billion per month to maintain the opposition and dissenters in a state of quiet silence, according to Stanchev.
According to him, the sanctions against Russia do not affect Europe economically.
„What affects the European economy is the risk, the increase in the price of energy resources. However, the European economy is about 12-13 times larger than the economy of Russia, he also commented.
