A woman was kidnapped in the middle night from "Student City" for the purpose of human trafficking and lewd acts. A man was detained in the case, who was assisted by persons not yet identified.
Around 02:30 on 18.05.2024 in the residential area “Student city“ in the city of Sofia, the accused S.R. in complicity with other persons, unidentified in the pre-trial proceedings, kidnapped Zh.D. with the aim of being used for lewd acts, reported the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office.
The woman was put into a car brand “BMW” by force. One of the group. put a white cloth on her face with an anesthetic, after which she was taken to Vitosha's house.
On the case, pre-trial proceedings were initiated for a crime under Art. 159a, para. 2, item 3, paragraph art. 159a, para. 1, cf. Art. 20, para. 2, top para. 1 NC.
S.R. has been convicted and the present offense was committed while on probation for a previous conviction. Given the possibility of absconding or committing another crime, he was detained for up to 72 hours.
