The administrative court in Stara Zagora has declared the arrest of Georgi Georgiev, accused of the attack on Deborah Mihailova, illegal, bTV learned.
According to the court, at the time of the arrest, there was no data or information that Georgi Georgiev was the perpetrator of the attack.
The person accused of the attack on the 18-year-old girl from Stara Zagora was arrested on July 30, 2023.
He was initially detained for 72 hours, but after an appeal was released on bail by the court. The case was then defined as “slight bodily injury”. It was later changed to “medium“.
At the end of July last year, the District Court in Stara Zagora decided that Georgiev should remain in custody.
Now the Administrative Court in Stara Zagora has finally decided that he should leave:
„In this case, it is clear that neither the procedural order itself contains such data and information, nor from the written evidence contained in the file, presented to the RS, it is established that at the time of issuing and serving the arrest order , nor at the time of the actual detention of the person at 08:15 on 30.07.2023, was there any information within the meaning of the law about a crime committed under Art. 144, paragraph 3, in conjunction with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code by Georgi Georgiev or one for complicity on his part in this crime”.
