In connection with the elections for 50th National Assembly and for the European Parliament The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria provides the following information:
From the beginning of the election campaign until 2:00 p.m. on 06/09/2024 a total of 444 files and 95 pre-trial proceedings for violations of citizens' political rights were opened.
By appellate regions, the pre-trial proceedings related to the vote for people's representatives and representatives of Bulgaria in the European Parliament are distributed as follows: AP-Sofia - 33; AP-Burgas - 27, AP-Plovdiv - 5; AP-Varna - 23, AP-Veliko Tarnovo - 7.
A duty unit of prosecutors and employees functions in the Supreme Prosecutor's Office, which summarizes the information received from the prosecutor's offices throughout the country.
The National Interdepartmental Unit continues to function, which coordinates the activities of the PRB, the Ministry of the Interior and the State Security Service to ensure a quick and adequate response to counter crimes related to the electoral process and the lawful conduct of the elections for the 50th National Assembly and for the European parliament.
