Bulgarians queued up in front of the polling stations in Brussels - 1

A long queue formed in front of our permanent representation in Brussels, where two of the voting sections for the European and National Parliament are located, BNR reported.

The Belgian sections opened as early as 8:00 a.m. local time, since then people waiting to cast their votes gathered in front of them. If they do not do this, the fine could reach 250 euros. A young man with an apparent age of about 25 told BNR:

"I gave my voice to those who share my values because it can make a difference. And I told myself that even if the change doesn't happen, it's good to help them.

The youth support the mandatory vote in the kingdom and do not want the situation to change. Why?

"We live in a society and every person participates in its construction. That's why I think the vote is important for what defines democracy best - everyone giving their share.

What are two Bulgarian youths voting for:

"To have a more tolerant, more cooperative Bulgarian parliament, in which individual political families tend to work together"

"For a stronger Bulgaria. There is definitely a need for change, to improve the economy, to fight corruption and to fix our judicial system, because people are so disillusioned that they can get any justice in Bulgaria that they just run away.

Do they want compulsory voting to be introduced in Bulgaria as in Belgium?

"I definitely think that a compulsory vote should be introduced like in Belgium"

"I have been living in Belgium for a long time. The fact that the vote is mandatory is actually quite nice. It makes people realize that in addition to wanting, they also have to do something for the state.
