A 6-year-old child from Lithuania almost drowned in the pool of a hotel in Saint Vlas, BNT reported. The boy was left unattended by his mother and was miraculously rescued by two other children.

A little before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, the 6-year-old child entered a hotel pool in Sveti Vlas unaccompanied to swim. The lifeguards' working hours are over, and the mother leaves the boy unattended.

"The video shows her leaving the bar. The child swims at first and suddenly sinks into the water, with two other children pulling him out. Then the doctor, who is in our hotel, intervenes and sends a signal to 112", said Nikolay Grigorov, manager of the hotel.

The child and his mother were not guests of the hotel. The administration says they have two lifeguards to monitor the safety of vacationers.

"We have a bouncer up on the slides who controls the rules of the slide and one down below who controls when the kids fall into the water. From 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the lifeguard was on site, but we have signs everywhere without or with a lifeguard that every single child must be accompanied by their parents," stressed Nikolay Grigorov, hotel manager.

The BCK specifies that lifeguards work with fixed working hours, which, however, can be changed by the specific employer.

"It is a mandatory commitment of the parents to monitor the behavior of the children”, says Violeta Radeva, director of BCHK-Burgas.

The 6-year-old boy has already been discharged from the hospital. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated on the case.
