The election made it obvious that Europeans refuse to accept the imposed liberal model in which Europe is always open – for migrants, for ecology…, and citizens remain in the background. That is why many voters voted more conservatively, they voted to protect Europe and the interests of its citizens. Many believe that national identity should not be lost in the community. This is what political scientist Slavi Vassilev told BNR-Radio Sofia.

He emphasized that the trends in Europe are indicative because they go hand in hand with those in Bulgaria.
"70 percent non-voting in our country means absolute rejection – not to say disgust, of the political status quo and the political context in which our country finds itself. I understand those who do not want to vote. There is no intrigue here. It is clear that Borisov and Peevski will govern. For me, politics is a battle of personalities. Bulgaria lacks leaders. I have been critical of Borissov, but for years he has been the face of the political leadership."
According to Vassilev, after the raised fist of Rumen Radev, this face of Borisov has faded, but a politician has not yet been found who would hit a hook and knock down the leader of GERB. There are currently no leaders on the parliamentary horizon.
According to the political scientist, the only one who can replace Borisov with a knockdown is Radev. His time is knocking at the door, but he still has commitments, he is a man of honor and duty.
