On election day, some problems occurred with a relatively small number of machines. In several places, the devices printed blank receipts, or a message that said no paper appeared. Repeated intervention of the technicians was required, Nova TV recalls.
„The information we receive from the CEC does not affect the problem I raised the alarm about – when, when attempting to vote by machine, only one ballot is printed, or the second ballot is only partially printed. It is very important to clarify what are the causes of these problems. I have submitted an application to the CEC to tell them how many of these signals there are. "I know of 50 people who had similar problems on election day," commented lawyer Petar Slavov.
He explained that the CEC was aware of the problem already in the middle of the election day and gave written instructions in case of a problem with the receipt, to vote with the so-called “substitute” paper ballot for the election not printed by the machine.
„The machines are not to blame, but most likely it will turn out to be a problem with the type of paper that blocks the machines from working normally”, Slavov pointed out.
