The Director of UMBALSM "Pirogov" Valentin Dimitrov is expected to be appointed for a new term of office after remaining the only candidate in the final third round of the competition to elect the director of the hospital for emergency medicine. This is clear from a document published on the website of the Ministry of Health.
The competition was announced on April 22, BNT recalls.
The previous Minister of Health, Prof. Hristo Hinkov, tried to dismiss Valentin Dimitrov from his post on the grounds of violations found by the internal audit of the Ministry of Health. Such were not proven by ADFI. And Dimitrov received powerful support from GERB and DPS.
Dimitrov appealed the procedure for registering a new leadership, initiated by Minister Hinkov, and thus remained in office.
The attempt to remove him caused upheavals in the relations between the former partners in the "Denkov-Gabriel" cabinet. After taking office, acting health minister Galya Kondeva terminated the procedure for Dimitrov's removal.
