I am optimistic and hope that a regular government with a full mandate will be formed quickly in our country. I hope for a quick understanding between the people's representatives. This is best for Bulgarian citizens as well. This was stated by the acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev from Brussels.

„I can't say if there will be a regular prime minister, but it would be good. The one who drives the process is President Rumen Radev – he must deliver a mandate. I hope that things will happen in the first term," he added.

„There are preliminary positions, now syncing. Everyone who participates in the council has an idea of what they will support in the package of candidates for the President of the European Commission, of the European Parliament and the High Representative, who is also the Vice-President of the EC and Foreign Minister of the EC“, he clarified.

„ There may be signs that it can be extended to the President of the EP, as the situation is similar to that in our country – parliament must be constituted to start the other appointments. The idea is for the EP to start functioning as soon as possible, so that the other bodies can start functioning as well”, Glavchev also emphasized.

According to him, Bulgaria is in the position for a quick understanding and supports the package.

According to him, we are far from the talks about the portfolio of the Bulgarian European Commissioner: “We are in the initial stage of the discussions, I cannot give specifics. I hope that on 27-28, when the regular European Council is held, we will already have more concrete decisions. The European Commission is expected to be constituted sometime in November.“
