GERB will formally offer a cabinet, but its chance is zero. This is what the political scientist and university lecturer Prof. Todor Galunov told BNR.
"The first mandate of GERB, if some additional arrangement is not made, which at least I do not see officially so far, there is no way it will pass. If they propose a homogeneous party cabinet with their 68 votes, the chance is zero. I.e. they will formally propose a cabinet to maintain the political spirit of their voters, but it will not work," he commented.
According to him, during the second mandate - of the DPS, there are "political maneuvers and it is clear that the DPS and GERB together have not yet found support.
According to Prof. Todor Galunov, there are high expectations from the third term:
"An expert office looks like a partially saving, possible option, not so bad, even rather good. But I don't see how votes will be collected for such an expert cabinet. How will they agree? It's the same with the program cabinet - how will a motive be found, what will the program be - the options again depend on negotiations and statesmanship.
The political scientist admitted that in new early elections in the parliament, a new player may appear, "which we do not think of and do not assume that it can appear, since a large number of people already want radical solutions, which basically they are anti-system".
"It is not known whether the new elections will not bring more negatives for the parties if they refuse to form a cabinet. ... If everything goes the way it is going now, it is quite possible that in September or October we will go to new elections. This is a complete erosion of the political system and a complete blow to parliamentary representation because politicians do not respect the wishes of their citizens.
