The newly elected Bulgarian MEP from the PP "There is such a people", Ivaylo Valchev, was today accepted in the group of European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) in the European Parliament, BNT reported, referring to information from the party.
Valchev was unanimously accepted by all members of the group at the weekly EKR meeting.
"It is no coincidence that ITN's pre-election slogan was - Let's bring back common sense! With my activity in the European Parliament and ECR, I intend to reinforce this political message. I will fight for a Europe that knows its Christian roots well. A Europe that guards its borders. A union whose policies bring with them economic prosperity, not green utopias. My activity in the European Parliament will reflect these views of mine", he stated.
The co-chairman of the group, Nicola Procaccini, from Italy's governing party "Italian Brothers", welcomed Valchev and wished him success. A number of the members of the EKR group have expressed their satisfaction that Bulgaria will continue to have its representative in the group, according to the party.
As his main tasks, Ivaylo Valchev has identified the preservation of the traditional values of Europe, the promotion of right-wing policies that will lead to economic prosperity, as well as the protection of the external borders of the union.
