The road between the Pleven villages of Koilovtsi and Brashlianitsa was closed due to a large forest fire yesterday, NOVA reported. Six teams of the fire department were working on the ground, and policemen were stopping the traffic of cars.
Hundreds of acres have been covered, said Commissioner Stanislav Atanasov, director of RDPBZN - Pleven.
"The first signal was received at 1:30 p.m. about a fire in a barley block, near the village of Koilovtsi. After that, there were fires in dry grass in several places, which necessitated the dispatch of several teams to the spot. The development of these separate outbreaks complicated the situation, and therefore we called in additional forces, it was also necessary to ensure water supply with water carriers. "We will probably leave a fire truck on duty for the night," Commissioner Atanasov also said.
He was adamant that there is no danger to nearby settlements.
