Free bottled mineral water will be distributed by the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) today and tomorrow – June 20 and 21, the Red Cross organization announced, BTA reported.
The campaign will be held from 11:30 to 13:30 at two points in Sofia. These are the kindergarten opposite the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski“ and at the entrance to the "NDK" Metro Station; opposite “Vitosha“ Blvd. The water will be distributed by volunteers from the Capital Organization of BCHK.
The initiative is being held in connection with the expected high temperatures, the organization informed and specified that the mineral water is provided with funds from the BCK.
High temperatures during the summer months can put everyone's health and life at risk. Adults, the chronically ill and children are particularly susceptible to this, the BCK recalls.
Avoid going outside in the hottest part of the day, and if going out is imperative, stay in the shade, wear a hat and light-colored clothes, use cream with a high sun protection factor and drink enough fluids, advised the BCK. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention immediately.
Earlier this month, the Red Cross organization started distributing food and hygiene products, which will reach over 618 thousand vulnerable Bulgarian citizens. The action is carried out by employees and volunteers of the BRC in 308 temporary points throughout the country. It is expected to last until July 31.
