The Acting Minister of the Internal Affairs Kalin Stoyanov came out with a position regarding the allegations of the former minister Ivan Demerdzhiev , distributed by the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, BTA reported.
"On the occasion of the successive baseless attacks of the former acting minister of the interior, Ivan Demerdzhiev, and in defense of the professional honor and dignity of the employees of the Ministry of the Interior, whose activities he once again belittled, I find it necessary to bring some clarity. The statements of this person that the Ministry did not implement a single operation to neutralize vote buying are not just empty words and do not correspond to the truth, but quite the opposite, the position states. According to Stoyanov, they are a serious insult to the work of more than 16,000 police officers who were engaged in the protection of public order and ensuring the free and fair election of members of the European Parliament and the National Assembly. According to him, the results of the invested efforts are unequivocal.
The assessment that the representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe gave of the work of the Bulgarian institutions is also eloquent, according to which the elections were free, transparent, well prepared and conducted, Stoyanov points out.

"When we talk about the excellent results of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, thanks to which Bulgaria was accepted into the Schengen area, we must not forget that while Demerdzhiev held the position of interior minister, our country was totally blocked for any negotiations related to our acceptance into Schengen. Considering even just this fact, Demerdzhiev is the last person who should make any comment related to controlling the migrant pressure, which he did not manage at all", believes Kalin Stoyanov.

In the last five days, we witnessed two more victims of domestic violence and there was not even a single policeman there to save them, and at the same time we see how the political leaders are strengthening their security, and here the answers are due to the Minister of the Interior, Demerdzhiev also commented. They should answer how there are no migrants, and the prosecutor's office constantly reports a larger number of pre-trial proceedings for illegal migration, he also stated.
