The fight against the fires in Sakar continued at night near the villages of Izvorovo, Dripchevo and Oryahovo, BNT reported.
They went up in flames on Sunday afternoon. Yesterday, one was contained, but the other grew to nearly 10,000 acres, burning mostly dry grasses and bushes.
There is no danger to populated areas, but the partial state of emergency declared late Sunday evening has not been lifted. The probable cause of the fires is human negligence, and the heat and wind helped the outbreaks to grow.
