Mihail Krastev: Borisov is afraid to form a cabinet - 1

There is not much hope of forming a cabinet at this stage. This is also the reason why Borisov addresses his voters rather than the opposing or possibly partner parties. This was stated by the analyst and economist Mihail Krastev on the air of BNR.

"The signals that are being sent by GERB are not positive, rather they are trying to show the Bulgarian society that they have done everything possible, but this time they will not back down and apart from the first mandate, there is no other possible cabinet to have", he thinks.

The very fact that Borisov will not go alone for the mandate means that GERB does not have the self-confidence to form an independent cabinet, the analyst stressed.

"We tried two compromise cabinets which were scandalous in essence constructed and accordingly fell apart at the first moment when the interests of the participants in them conflicted. In order to have stable governance, there must be a winner. "Nobody here feels like a winner," Krastev added.

Borisov is afraid to form a cabinet, Mihail Krastev also believes.

"Is he afraid of Peevski or of the fact that, together with Peevski, he will turn a large part of society against him, but he is obviously afraid. He is afraid, even though the GERB result suggests at least an attempt to form a stable majority," he also said.

Over 70% of Bulgarian citizens refuse to participate in the electoral process. These are not people who are not interested in politics. They follow the political life in Bulgaria on a daily basis and refuse to participate in the currently arranged production. That 70% is currently on the bench and even if they get in, that's why active politicians in parliamentary life are very careful, because a savior may appear. Regardless of whether the president decides to join a party or another politician, or whether he will leave civil society. We are not the country with the most apathetic political mood, given that everyone has an opinion about political life in Bulgaria. We are not apathetic, rather we are disgusted, Krastev pointed out.
