Genoveva Petrova: It is unlikely that support will be sought for the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet yet - 1

„I suppose that the talks for support have not yet started,” said in broadcast on bTV sociologist Genoveva Petrova from “Alfa Research” for proposals within the framework of the first mandate project of the cabinet of GERB-SDS.

With ministers from several previous cabinets of Boyko Borisov and persons from the interim government of Dimitar Glavchev, the coalition will try to win the support of the National Assembly for a regular cabinet.

Unsurprisingly, Rosen Zhelyazkov is the nominee for prime minister.

It is proposed that seven ministers from the service power remain in his cabinet. 11 out of a total of 19 ministers are prominent figures of GERB.

„The chances of reaching support and collecting enough votes for the government are greater than the political possibilities for this government to work normally after that”, the sociologist commented.

Petrova reminded that at the moment the support of the mandate holder himself is certain – GERB-SDS, and DPS, which from the very beginning announced that they would support a cabinet with the first mandate.

„There is speculation and expectation to receive support from individual representatives of the people or from the smaller parliamentary groups, without any of them giving a clear signal at the moment. There is also the other option – to play with the quorum. In order to be approved, the government must receive 50+1 votes from those present in the plenary hall“, reminded Genoveva Petrova.

According to her, no one knows what will be the behavior of the new party “Majesty”.

„This is a very clear and direct demonstration of what it means for an entity that has no clear political position, no clear political history. "Everything can be expected from such a non-systemic party," the sociologist believes.
