Nadezhda Yordanova: GERB broke a working government, and now they have no governing formula - 1

We will not support and will not participate in the formation of a government with the first and with the second mandate.

This is what Nadezhda Yordanova, deputy chairperson of the PG of PP-DB, former minister of justice, told the BNR.

"Our arguments for this are very clear - GERB broke a working governing formula - yes, difficult, creaky, but a formula that supported a majority, which until the beginning of January (2024) was carrying out the necessary reforms at a good pace. During the election campaign, GERB also burned all possible fields of interaction. At this time, there is no sign, nor any conditions, of a change in this position of ours. Therefore, I categorically confirm it", she specified.

In her words, GERD does not have a management formula:

"What is the management formula? A support means we also bear responsibility. Responsibility for what? Let GERD not make excuses and propose a working formula, the responsibility is theirs at the moment.

According to Yordanova, now is not the time to talk about the third term, the first is on the table:

"We live in extremely risky and troubling times. We know of the cases when Delyan Peevski set out with such determination to conquer one or another company or institution, everything ended in disaster. Imagine if this model were applied to the state," she commented.

Nadezhda Yordanova announced that on Friday, June 28, PP-DB submitted to the parliament proposals to change the rules for selecting the leadership of the Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK):

"Let us specify that the pace at which the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly will be adopted and the commissions will be formed is kept by GERB. The chairman of the National Assembly and the chairman of the temporary commission are from GERB. ... It remains to be seen whether their request for anti-corruption efforts is another smokescreen or a real desire. We expect GERB to fulfill their requests and we will insist that this happens.

She emphasized that PP-DB do not have a specific nomination for members of the Commission for Combating Corruption (CPC):

"Let the conditions and requirements be accepted first, and only then come the proposals for individuals. We will be looking for support around the nominations that we consider to meet the criteria from all parliamentary groups. The idea is to elect politically neutral people to these positions, professionals who have broad public support and are trusted".

The cases of Niko Tuparev and Evelin Banev-Brendo show how important it is to complete the judicial reform, "which we started by adopting amendments to the Constitution, by adopting the new law on the judiciary and the subsequent change in all other laws" .
