Svetlin Tachev: With his silence, Dogan is keeping Peevski in check, that's why Peevski is waving the white flag - 1

Peevski shows a message of peace to Ahmed Dogan . He is in a situation where he can hardly win against the honorary chairman, the natural leader of the DPS. How Dogan would act towards Peevski is the question. Can Peevski be removed from the political situation, or can a compromise be reached without upheavals in the party. This was stated by political scientist Svetlin Tachev from "Gallup". on the air of Nova News.

„The collapse of DPS will lead to the end of the transition. The question is what Dogan would do – whether it would lead the party to a split or to a compromise option. The movement still achieved good results in the elections, he stressed.

On the occasion of the possible closure of the DPS party, Tachev added: “I cannot imagine this hypothesis. This party is a balancer, it has proven to be a formation over the years that covers certain social and ethnic groups. DPS has transformed over the years, and Peevski as co-chairman shows that he is looking for a new look, to get out of his role in the last 30 years.“

„We are observing a conflict between the two main figures in the DPS, with unequal positions. A speech by Dogan and the removal of Peevski, sending him to the back line or completely removing him from the party can achieve what some of the democratic parties have been trying to do for 10 years, even through protests. "One statement by Ahmed Dogan will solve everything," he is emphatic.

„ With his silence, Dogan keeps Peevski in check, that's why Peevski is waving the white flag”, added Tachev.

On the failure of the design office “Zhelyazkov“ the political scientist stated: “Even Boyko Borisov did not want to have a government, because it had to be only with DPS and possibly with the support of another. This would be an image blow to him and to his electoral stability.“

Regarding the chances for a third term, the political scientist believes: “They remain within the framework of theory. Everyone wants a cabinet because none of the formations in the National Assembly is ready for new elections.“

“The idea of “Revival“ is technically possible – they have 125 votes, but how can it happen since there are many differences between the formations. GERB and DPS, although they want a government, would not support a third term. Maybe ITNs would be the best option for that. There is desire, there is no will.“

According to him, there can be no strong left wave, rather there can be a strong populist wave. “ New political formations may enter,” he also said.
