The mayor of the metropolitan area “Poduyane“ Kristiyan Hristov filed a report of financial abuse in the amount of BGN 20,000 in a kindergarten in the area. He announced this himself in a post on his Facebook profile, quoted by BTA.

According to Kristiyan Hristov, after receiving a report from the director about possible abuse by an employee of a kindergarten for almost BGN 20,000, an inspection was carried out.

All information was sent to the Agency for State Financial Inspection, Sofia District Prosecutor's Office, SDVR and Sofia Municipality.

"We are taking decisive measures to put an end to such outrages - I have issued an order according to which the principals of all kindergartens and schools in the area should send monthly information supported by the necessary documents to verify the expediency , legality and efficiency in spending the funds," Hristov wrote. "Care for children and transparent management are a priority of our region. From day one, we have been actively working to plan and improve the environment for the little ones, and that is precisely why I will not allow a penny of the budget to be spent illegally. This is how it will be in the future," concluded the mayor of the "Poduyane" region.

Kristijan Hristov was elected to his post in a runoff on November 7, 2023. It was raised by “We continue the change-Democratic Bulgaria” („Save Sofia"). Hristov is 31 years old. He has a master's degree in civil engineering with a specialty in "Transport construction". at the University of Architecture, Construction and Geodesy.
