A train swept a car on a railway crossing. The car was driven by an 80-year-old driver who miraculously escaped with only minor injuries.
Around 8:30 a.m. at the crossing on the Krivodol - Rakevo line, a car bypassed the waiting vehicles at the lowered barrier. The car bypassed the barrier, and seconds later it was hit by a passing train, reports BNT.
As a result of the impact, the passenger car was thrown to the side with the rear part crushed beyond recognition.
Due to the incident, rail transport throughout Northwestern Bulgaria remained blocked for hours.
Passengers at Boychinovtsi station complained that for more than 2 hours they had no information about what was coming and what was happening.
A woman stated that at the train station in Boychinovtsi, they returned her money with the words "Let everyone deal with it as they see fit".
The BDZ said that transport by buses was organized for the stranded passengers between the stations that were affected as a result of the accident.
