Iva Miteva: Borisov should have been GERB's candidate for prime minister - 1

When I saw the election results, I knew that there would be no cabinet. Currently, the parties are leading us into the unknown, as a result of which citizens have become indifferent to the electoral process. The National Assembly, on the other hand, is extremely weak and, as such, cannot produce a strong cabinet. This was stated in an interview with NOVA NEWS by the former Speaker of the National Assembly, Iva Miteva.

She drew attention to the fact that it is never good for a government to do “at all costs”, because this suggests that it is about unprincipled agreements and backstage. For this reason, Miteva believes that the most reasonable choice would be new early elections.

In her words, not Rosen Zhelyazkov, but Boyko Borisov should have been the candidate for prime minister of GERB-SDS when the first mandate was handed over, as he has proven himself many times in politics.

Boyko Borisov should have been the candidate for prime minister because he is a strong personality, a man of character. He was a firefighter, chief secretary, mayor, representative and he understands management processes. All other names will be controlled and managed, and we don't need puppets on strings, commented Miteva.

Regarding the proposal for a technical government with the third mandate, as called for by the DSB, Iva Miteva recalled that in 2022 it was Borisov who talked about a technical cabinet with a short management horizon, but then this idea of his was rejected. On the topic, she also added that the official government as a concept is a kind of technical cabinet.

In conclusion, Miteva clarified that the Greek electoral system is very different and specific and will not be able to be effectively applied in the conditions of our political reality.
