The US Embassy in Sofia celebrated the 187th anniversary of the birth of Vasil Levski. "It is an honor for us to celebrate the life of this extraordinary person,", the Embassy wrote on the "Facebook" social network.
"Today we join all Bulgarians in celebrating the 187th anniversary of the birth of the national hero Vasil Levski. We are honored to celebrate the life of this extraordinary man who envisioned the future of his country as an independent, democratic republic that guarantees equality for all its citizens, regardless of their ethnicity and religion," the US Embassy wrote.
