This was stated by the until recently mayor of "Oborishte" Georgi Kuzmov in the show "Evrodikov" regarding the removal of mayors in the Metropolitan Municipal Council, who were also removed from office due to allegations of involvement in commercial companies.
,,Nowhere in the law does it say that it is forbidden to be a partner. What I find is that in the report to me, the OIC does not distinguish between a sole trader and an OOD. There is no court practice in which a partner of a company was removed simply because he was a partner, and there was no practice of removing mayors before the court case was over. From this year this trend started. A body that has a majority, that is political, makes a decision to remove you and then puts you on trial and what will you say - we'll see," Kuzmov also commented.
,,The fact is that it is the same majority that was obtained when the heads of the municipal companies were removed from the SOS. That is, PP-DB and SS were left alone and in fact the opposition removed the heads of the companies. The same thing happened to me in OIC. There are 38 people in total, 28 vote for my removal and only 10, who are representatives of the PP-DB, remain alone", said the mayor until recently.
Kuzmov said he will appeal the decision in court.
,,Of course I'm appealing. This is the same case, but on a different path - I am also appealing my removal as mayor of Oborishte in advance. The law has allowed the OIC to remove the mayors, but in my opinion, this should be done in case of proven violations".
