Inspections of the houses damaged by the explosions in the warehouse for fireworks near Elin Pelin continue. In the incident of July 25 in the evening, four people died, and in the houses in the area the windows were broken, in some there was also fallen plaster.
This was announced to bTV by Mayor Ivaylo Simeonov.
„On Friday, we formed a municipal crisis headquarters to conduct inspections.
More than 50 properties were inspected, and in 30 it was found that windows and window frames were damaged. The work of the commission will continue today. Tomorrow at the latest, we will have a complete picture of the damage from the explosions”, explained the mayor of Elin Pelin.
Owners of damaged houses will be compensated by the state and the municipality, Simeonov announced.
„During the initial inspections, we found that there are people who want to describe a little more things than what was actually damaged by the explosions”, the mayor noted.
Inspections have also begun in the burnt warehouses for fireworks near Elin Pelin.
There are a total of 4 victims after the explosions. Two people died in “Pirogov” – 48-year-old Petar Shishkov and his 20-year-old daughter Kristin and two others were found during the inspection of the warehouse.
The bodies have been taken for autopsy and medical examination, which is expected to be completed today. DNA identification will also be conducted. It is assumed that among the dead is the 22-year-old son of the owner of the warehouses.
The authorities are working on all possible versions to determine how the fire started.
