This, in our opinion, was a pro forma meeting regarding compliance with the constitutional procedure. At this common table, which the president defined as a table in the name of a good example between parties that can talk to each other, there were quite irresponsible individuals. The number of problems that we listed at this table could have been solved last week. This was stated to journalists after consultations with the president by Stanislav Balabanov from “Ima takvi narod“ (ITN).
He gave as an example the election of a European Commissioner and the Recovery Plan. “These were priorities put on the table for the negotiations by “Ima takvi narod“ during the negotiations and everyone at this table agreed with them and said how important it is for them to happen immediately. But, you see, they can happen today too, but after new elections, since their leaders are apparently quite dependent in this political situation, they did not allow the experts who were present at the table today to make decisions. So political hypocrisy once again took precedence over the normal, dialogical and expert speech that we expected“, he emphasized.
According to ITN, whatever date the president chooses for the early elections, they are ready. “The question is for these elections to provide an opportunity for an alternative, because this political hypocrisy must be put to an end once and for all. When priorities are set at one table, behind which everyone united and supported us, in the end the dependencies of the first and second political forces, which had the opportunity to have a government with a majority, took precedence. There was a possibility that with a majority the president would have had a wider choice, but the answers will be given by those who will bear this heavy political responsibility“, Balabanov warned.
“ITN managed to return reason and dialogue to the NA, but this is not enough. I hope this will be a good basis after the elections“, he said.
“ITN was the only political formation that stated that it wanted the NA not to stop working at all. All the others wanted the vacation to start with the awarding of the third mandate to the ITN, so here is another dose of political hypocrisy. We are ready to work. It will be amazing and disgusting if it comes to the option of October 20th being the elections, and at the specific plenary session, at which the future Council of Ministers is to be sworn in, there will be no quorum. This will be disgusting. Most political parties have probably already booked their vacations“, said Balabanov.
What happened today in the presidency is the result of the hypocrisy and refusal of politicians to work for the citizens. They are now preparing their party accounts, they do not have the courage to get out of the addictions they have fallen into. Ultimately, people will appreciate this in an election, they will bear the consequences and I hope the results will be different“, said the MP from ITN.
