In recent days, we - the Management Board of the National Union of Firefighters and Rescuers “Ogneborets”, have been disturbed by the aggressive political statements regarding the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and attempts to instill an opinion among the public about its inability to carry out its legally regulated activities.
As employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, ensuring fire safety and protection of the population in the event of fires, disasters and emergencies and continuous, fast and free access to emergency response services through the National Emergency Call System with a single European number 112, we do not accept these accusations. Moreover, in recent years we have increasingly had to deal with uncharacteristic and major accidents, both on the territory of our country and abroad, and our actions have been highly appreciated by various national and international institutions. Only the large-scale field and forest fires that have raged in recent months, covering thousands of hectares of forest land, where human victims were not allowed to be killed and extinguished within real limits, are indicative.

We, from NSPS “Ogneborets“, believe that in the selection of a person for the Minister of Internal Affairs in the caretaker government by the nominee for Prime Minister - Mrs. Gorica Grancharova – Kozhareva, it is necessary to take into account his vision of continuing a high level of social dialogue with the social partners in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and imposing adequate policies regarding the provision of fire safety and the protection of the population in the event of fires, disasters and emergency situations by securing the structures of GDPBZN with human resources, material and technical support and ensuring healthy and safe working conditions for employees.
