Boris Petrov: We encourage the idleness of the state administration - 1

"The money / b.r. for elections/ are available, it is part of the political legitimation of democratic states. Our general financial picture is positive and Bulgaria stands well in the background of all the international processes taking place in the region and globally".

This was stated by financier Boris Petrov in "Day ON AIR".

In his words, remuneration in the public sector should not overtake the growth of the private sector.

"It is good that there is continuity to the extent that the finance minister actively participates in the preparation of the draft budget. In the framework of the budget procedure, it is important what policies the state will incorporate with a view to effective accession to the Eurozone and the fulfillment of the inflation criteria. It also depends on what kind of fiscal policy the government will pursue. If we look at the statistics, we will see that salary growth in the public sector is outpacing that in the private sector. Instead of encouraging the private sector to compete for new jobs, we are actually encouraging the idleness of the state administration," commented Petrov to Bulgaria ON AIR.

"This is our story about the rule of law - about justice, about whether the public sector is protected well in what is being considered. The investigative bodies in our country will do their job. The documents will be traced, the activities physically done and hopefully truth and justice will prevail. This is also a risk for the fiscal position of Bulgaria, because "Bulgartransgaz" is a Bulgarian company. Accordingly, it took quite a significant resource for all the investments, and if this value that was invested is not recovered, it may be put under financial pressure and the state may have to take over part of its obligation", commented the financier.

Budgeting is a technological job that the same teams do every year, Petrov said.

"Part of the role of a politically appointed government is precisely to respond to these fundamental questions and the challenges that are present. This is the solution to the whole set of questions that arise at this stage. It is not a problem that an official minister will prepare the draft budget, because by law the administration is obliged to prepare it in the relevant terms, regardless of who the minister is. The role of politicians is to formulate political goals and ask for the sanction of the National Assembly," he explained.
