Lightning ignited the fire near Pompeno-storage hydroelectric plant (PAVEC) "Kalin" in Rila mountain, the Kyustendil fire service reported to BTA. The dam is the highest in the Balkans and is about 2400 m high. Earlier today from the Natural Park "Rila Monastery" spread a message saying that due to a fire in the area of Mount Kalin, the road from the village of Pastra to the Chala hut (below Kalin Dam) will be closed.
