Today marks two years since the death of the two Burgas policemen who tried to stop a bus with illegal migrants. At dawn on August 25, Atanas Gradev and Yordan Iliev tried to stop the bus with their patrol car, which had previously failed to stop at several police stations. The two law enforcement officers died on the spot.
In their memory, a pedestrian procession was held today, organized by ODMVR-Burgas and the “Emil Sharkov“ Foundation.
The march is for a cause - to raise funds for the children of fallen employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, "Nova TV" specified. The event was initiated by the family of Atanas Gradev – his wife and two grown sons. The procession itself started from the regional directorate of the MVV in the seaside city, passed along the main boulevards of Burgas to end in front of the memorial plaque, which was opened on the same date last year.
