Airbase in Graf Ignatievo will host large-scale aviation demonstrations of September 14, 2024 (Saturday) on the occasion of 20 years since the admission of the Republic of Bulgaria to NATO and 35 years of the MiG-29 aircraft in service with the Bulgarian Air Force.

At 9:00 a.m., the airbase will open its doors and await fans of military aviation and friends of the Bulgarian Army to provide them with the opportunity for a unique experience.

Guests of the holiday are the Ground Forces and the Naval Forces of the Bulgarian Army, the Border Police and representatives of the Air Forces of Germany, Greece, the USA, Hungary and Switzerland, who will be part of the air show and a display of aviation equipment prepared for visitors.

The official opening of the aviation event and the beginning of the demonstrations in the sky above the airport will be at 10.30 a.m. and will continue with a 4-hour intensive and rich flight program.

Formations of planes and aerobatics will heat up the air above the fighter airport of Bulgaria. The organizers will keep secret the details of the flight program and the display of aviation equipment.

A static display will acquaint visitors with the purpose and flight characteristics of the aviation equipment in service with the Bulgarian Air Force and Navy, and the Border Police, as well as that of the partner visiting countries.

An incredible chance for visitors is the opportunity to see up close the demonstration centers of the Ground Forces of the Bulgarian Army, which will exhibit up-to-date examples of combat equipment, unmanned aerial systems, specialized vehicle equipment with a radio-technical intelligence module, special military equipment and equipment of the Alpine Regiment.

Army personnel from the Ground Forces will also present equipment for reconnaissance and destruction of unexploded ordnance, and spectators will witness spectacular demonstrations on site.

The representative orchestra of the Air Force will perform a rich repertoire of military marches and works from film music, rock, jazz, Bulgarian pop, as well as folk music.
