DPS chairman Delyan Peevski proposed party MP Iskra Mihailova as Bulgarian European Commissioner. The proposal comes in response to the call of Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, Nova TV reports.
In the reasons for the proposal, it is stated that Mihailova is an authority with a proven Euro-Atlantic profile, with many years of experience both in the European Parliament and in the executive and legislative power in Bulgaria.
„In times of emerging populism, anxiety and political instability in Europe and the world, it is necessary for Bulgaria to be represented by politicians with the categorical and clear position of Euro-Atlanticists with categorical and Euro-Atlantic values, which qualities Iskra Mihailova has and will defend in the European Commission”, explains Peevski.
