Rokada in the Ministry of the Interior was supposed to calm the passions and doubts about buying votes for the elections.
"In this situation, considering Glavchev, who is a political cadre of GERB, there is no particular difference with the previous minister. A professional person is offered who over the years has built his career within various political forces, but for the last 15 years the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been managed by GERB, his contacts are mostly in such circles. In this sense, there is not much change," commented former Deputy Interior Minister Filip Gunev in the studio of "The Day ON AIR".
He pointed out that 5-10% of the votes in the elections were bought. According to him, if we act according to the method of former interior minister Boyko Rashkov - to spread lists of bought votes for a specific party, this would be an unhealthy activity.
"Any minister who wants to put pressure on one party or another can do so. The main problem is that the relationship between the police and the minister is made in Bulgaria in such a way that the minister can directly influence the work of the police if he is given such a task," Gunev also said.
On Bulgaria ON AIR, the former Deputy Interior Minister expressed the opinion that any leadership of the Ministry of the Interior cannot deal with the bought vote until the political parties themselves decide to stop this practice: "The Ministry of the Interior is in a situation to fight the low levels without chasing the high political levels. With all the talk, not a single politician has been arrested for buying votes in these 10-15 years.
Gunev is adamant that no one can guarantee the local policemen that after three months no one will say that they tried too hard in the fight against the bought vote. According to him, every political party that came to power exerts itself on the Ministry of Internal Affairs under various pretexts.
"Some have not fulfilled their goals, elsewhere there is a murder, here a catastrophe happened - this is the deep politicization in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, they constantly come and make changes at the district level, then at the regional offices, from there the heads of the "Economic Police" ; - the deep purges are made, when someone 1 year gets stuck in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the whole change goes down", said Philip Gunev.
