The new Minister of Internal Affairs, Atanas Ilkov, stated that he does not rule out changes of senior officials in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He said this himself in an interview with BNR.

Ilkov specified that possible changes will be made after a careful analysis of the work.

"I want any such change to be made very precisely. I will refrain from hasty changes of leaders without being sure that they have not performed their duties effectively and lawfully, so there will be, but they will be cosmetic so that we do not put additional stress on the system. She is stressed enough," Ilkov pointed out.

Next week, the Ministry of the Interior will hold a national meeting.

Minister Ilkov was adamant that the only conversation held with him before taking office was with Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev.

"I am nominated by Prime Minister Glavchev. He was the only one who talked to me. In the conversation, this offer was made to me, which I accepted the next day, so this is the only conversation that has been held with me", said the new Minister of the Interior Atanas Ilkov regarding the opinions expressed by the PP-DB about his ties to Delyan Peevski.
