Revival: Our candidate for European Commissioner will protect the Bulgarian national interest

Yesterday the largest opposition party in the National Assembly announced its candidacy for the European Commissioner of Bulgaria . With a letter sent to the acting Prime Minister, "Revival" presents his candidate - Viktor Papazov.

The political organization considers that the candidacy proposed by them has the necessary qualifications and experience to be able to clearly define the national priorities of our country in accordance with the Bulgarian national interest.

In 1991, Victor Papazov laid the foundations of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange. After the adoption of the Law on Securities, Stock Exchanges and Investment Companies in 1995, it successfully implemented the merger of five regional stock exchanges into the BSE. He is one of the creators of the "Central Depository" AD, where he was vice-chairman of the Board of Directors from 1996 to 2006. In 2008, he introduced the XETRA stock exchange system in Bulgaria, and thus Bulgarian public companies appear on over 5,000 terminals all over the world. During all these years, he has been passing on his experience in the field of capital markets to students at UNSS.

He completed two master's degrees at UNSS – economics and planning. He graduated from Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program. He participated in the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service Leadership Seminar. He specializes in stock exchanges and capital markets at the Securities and Exchange Commission, USA, at DC Gardner London and at AOTS Tokyo. He speaks 3 languages besides his native Bulgarian – English, Russian and Serbo-Croatian.
