After two days of meetings with the names proposed by the parties for EU commissioner, the official cabinet can choose between: Ekaterina Zaharieva from GERB, Yulian Popov from "Continuing Change - Democratic Bulgaria", Viktor Papazov from "Vazrazhdane", Iskra Mihailova from DPS, Dragomir Stoynev and Tsvetelina Penkova from BSP, as well as Velislava Petrova from "There is such a people". In the studio of "Your Day" Julian Popov from PP-DB commented on the topic on NOVA NEWS.
According to him, there is reason in the words of the President Rumen Radev about the fact that two women's candidacies should be elected in Bulgaria. "Ursula von der Leyen insisted on having a 50/50 balanced cabinet of men and women. Most remaining commissioners are men. It is a very serious advantage to broadcast women, but it is not decisive. It is important that Bulgaria sends out worthy representatives," explained Popov.
„The conversation with the caretaker prime minister was very calm. Not much to talk about, not a normal job interview. We talked about the resources and the chances of Bulgaria taking them over, he added.
„I was nominated for the Minister of Environment of PP-DB. I am not a party figure. I work well with all parties. In a tense political situation, it is good to unite around something that does not add fuel to the fire of domestic confrontations, Popov believes.
