In Pleven, a vigil is held in memory of the deceased after an accident a boy with a scooter. The tragic incident happened three days ago.
The 16-year-old boy fell from an electric scooter on August 27 at around 8:40 p.m. He was admitted with a severe brain injury to the university hospital "Dr. Georgi Stranski". in Pleven.
An operation was performed, but despite the efforts of the doctors, the boy passed away on August 29.
The accident occurred due to bumps in the road after repair works on a street in the “Druzhba” district. The unevenness is due to excavation in order to connect a new building to the city's water supply network.
The trench was filled, but not asphalted. The Municipality announced that they were not notified about the start of the excavation activities.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case. Witnesses were interviewed, according to whom the boy was driving without a helmet at high speed in his lane, but suddenly swerved into the oncoming lane, where there was a buried trench.
The mayor of Pleven, Valentin Hristov, prohibited any movement of vehicles in the area where the vigil will be held. The prosecutor's office in Pleven is conducting an investigation.
