Petar Cholakov: Whoever wins, the model of the DPS corporation remains, and its architect is Ahmed Dogan - 1

The drama in DPS is at the top of this political power. Whoever prevails of the two: Dogan or Peevski, and whatever decision is made, will not be a sign of democratization of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms. He said this in an interview for “The Live Day” according to Nova News, political scientist Assoc. Petar Cholakov, quoted by novini.bg.

„There is a struggle of egos – the big ego of Dogan and the huge ego of Delyan Peevski. Democracy will not win from this. The CEC may or may not intervene. The problems in DPS are in the lack of transparency. Whoever wins, the model of the DPS corporation remains, and its architect is Ahmed Dogan, he added.

According to him, Dogan must clearly take responsibility for the “Peevski phenomenon”, even if he risks having his head sprinkled with ashes.
“If Dogan starts speaking much more actively and enters the spotlight, it will reflect on the processes in the party and the political system as a whole,”, the political scientist also said.

Assoc. Cholakov compared the honorary chairman of the DPS to an old car on the last kilometers of its road. “I don't think he has a particular desire to deal with this, that's why he also withdrew from active politics, that was the point of installing Delyan Peevski. The problem is that Peevski has turned out to be a hostage to his excessive political appetite. Peevski decided that once he got to the Tartoral place, he should consume what he could. Dogan could not allow this, he explained.
Assoc. Cholakov also commented on the issue of Peevski's immunity. "Because of his relationship with Tsvetan Vasilev, it is a shootout between these two figures. Peevski is a very controversial figure in Bulgarian politics. "The people's representatives should decide whether immunity should be removed," commented the political scientist.
He does not see why the election of a new attorney general should be rushed. “It seems like a hasty decision, like a delay in order to fulfill political orders. We remain with this impression.
