I expect the Central Election Commission to monitor the strict implementation of the provisions of the Election Code. It is the responsible authority, but should be supported by the government. This was stated by President Rumen Radev to journalists in Radnevo, quoted by Nova TV. He attended the solemn celebration of the 60th anniversary of the declaration of Radnevo as a city.
"This is no longer just about some internal party dramas and an election campaign, but about our destiny as a country. It is clear that if a society continues to behave with indifference and bow down to obvious outrages, it is doomed to collapse," the president explained.
"The National Assembly is infiltrated by severely corrupt figures with a ravenous appetite to dispose of state resources and the fate of Bulgarians, he added.
"Currently, parties and their leaders are focused on presenting beautiful projects and programs, yes, they are important. But those same people have stooped and do not dare to position themselves on this fundamental social problem," Radev said.
