In the work of the CEC, we have always been guided by what decision to make according to the law. We have endeavored to dissociate ourselves from any influence from bodies that would place “orders” on us.
This revealed to "This Morning" on bTV the former chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Alexander Andreev.
„The CEC in this case correctly made the decision to refuse the registration of the two DPS. It created tension because it was delayed in time. It is normal for a political force to want to participate in the elections, there is no surprise in the actions of Jevdet Chakarov and Ahmed Dogan. It remains to be seen what the CEC will decide, he thinks.
According to Iva Lazarova from the Public Council of the CEC, the commission is faced with a very complicated situation due to internal political struggles.
„The question is how the CEC will find out which of the two representatives of the DPS is really one. If both are recorded in the party's documents, the question is who has more rights – who registers the party or who refuses this registration”, she added.
According to Andreev, an internal conflict in any force should not be transferred to the CEC.
Lazarova recalled that no later than 35 days before election day, the relevant formation must be registered.
