At the airbase "Graf Ignatievo“ the head of state will award the Presidential Medal of Honor to Brigadier General Thad Clark, commander of the US Air Force's 31st Fighter Wing at Aviano Air Force Base, Italy. The distinction is for his significant contribution to the strategic defense cooperation between Bulgaria and the USA.
On September 14, Saturday, at 10:00 a.m., President Rumen Radev will visit the open flying day at the "Graf Ignatievo" air base. on the occasion of 20 years since Bulgaria joined NATO and 35 years since the MiG-29 aircraft was accepted into service with the Bulgarian Air Force.
