Internal disagreements and scandals only harm the party

Sergei Stanishev, former leader of the BSP and Prime Minister of Bulgaria, said in the BTV studio that since 2020, the BSP is in a serious decline, which deepens with each subsequent election. According to him, the main task now is to stop this "landslide" and to stabilize the party, as it is important for Bulgaria to have a strong social party.

Stanishev stressed, quoted by news.bg, that internal disagreements and scandals only harm the party. He noted that he would accept to head the party list because he feels obliged to the BSP, which made him its leader and prime minister, and he cannot watch the party "suffocate". However, he noted that changes in the BSP will not happen quickly.

Stanishev also called for less hatred and more mutual respect between political parties, stressing that without common national goals and a vision for the future, the political crisis in the country will continue. He expressed hope that the new parliament will tackle important topics such as demographic policy, which is of key importance for Bulgaria's future.

According to him, what is happening in the BSP is part of the general political crisis that has gripped the country

Regarding the DPS, Stanishev believes that the division within the party is real, but that it is important to have a dialogue with all parties, including the DPS, without this implying a mandatory coalition. He stated that he had learned from the coalition with the DPS ("Triple Coalition") and that the party suffered many negatives from its participation.
