A little over 30,000 applications for voting abroad have been submitted, which is a smaller number compared to the previous parliamentary elections. Most likely, on Friday we will also announce the final number of polling stations for voting abroad. This was stated on Nova News by CEC Deputy Chairman Rositsa Mateva, quoted by novini.bg.
Regarding the composition of the regional and sectional election commissions, Mateva explained that they are determined by the parliamentary parties represented in the 50th National Assembly.
Persons who agree to be members of the SIC should do so not to receive remuneration, but with responsibility to society, she appeals.
In her words, there is no requirement for the members of the SIC to have an educational qualification, specifying that this is a matter that must be decided by the legislator.
With regard to the machines and their storage, Rositsa Mateva expressed the hope that a place would soon be found where they could be stored permanently.
Machines are state property and should be stored in a place that is also state property, Mateva concluded.
