The 2020 protests against GERB failed to materialize in a new political form and for a long time after them GERB remained the dominant party, the sociologist from "Gallup International" believes. Parvan Simeonov, reported BNT.
"The other traditional factor in the Bulgarian society - it is the party of the Turkish ethnic group in Bulgaria, which is currently dominated by the sanctioned under the American act "Magnitsky" Delyan Peevski. This formation has a kind of blocking quota in Bulgarian political life in all senses of the word. And on the other side are liberal progressive globally positioned formations - pro-Western, which, however, do not have such a solid social base in Bulgarian society. For the simple reason that the Bulgarian society is aging, with very serious social inequalities. A society in which politics is becoming increasingly pragmatic and increasingly ugly. More and more dependent is the vote one way or another. And in this sense, change becomes a lot of work", commented Parvan Simeonov.
According to him, a complex political knot is obtained:
* On the one hand, the liberal forces in Bulgaria do not have a very solid social base;
* Pragmatic and more conservative forces have a very strong social base;
* Radicals and radical elements gain a social base very quickly;
"In this node, it is very difficult to achieve a sustainable coalition format, because they differ dramatically," says Parvan Simeonov.
One faction of the DPS will probably become a little more acceptable and that is Ahmed Dogan's faction, Parvan Simeonov believes and adds that this is far from certain, because Delyan Peevski's energy is amazing.
Parvan Simeonov says that an option for a government will be sought, because otherwise Boyko Borisov will enter the hypothesis of a person who constantly wins elections and is constantly unable to exercise power. And then probably some of his voters will waver.
