The battle will intensify. This is what he said in the show "The Day Live" on Nova News, the political scientist Svetlin Tachev in connection with the arrest of the MP from DPS-Dogan Ceyhan Ibryamov in an investigation of vote buying.
In one of its segments, the election campaign goes along two tracks: the general – uninteresting, without any particular messages and a smaller segment – the battle between the two factions of the DPS - around Ahmed Dogan and around Delyan Peevski. This is something that will continue to deepen to the point where it will become a central theme of the campaign. It seems to me that this battle could intensify until election day itself. Delyan Peevski won the battle for the brand, but at the moment there is a battle for the electorate, said Tachev.
If one of the two factions manages to win more voters, they will formally win the war, but the outcome of this war will also be decided legally. From now on we will see constant episodes of this war between the two factions and I am not sure it will end anytime soon. All sorts of tricks will be used, the political analyst pointed out.
The battle for the DPS electorate will be on the ground. This electorate is more dependent on what is spoken to them live. Here, on one side, we have the brand in the person of Delyan Peevski, and on the other, we have the honorary chairman Ahmed Dogan, who must give explanations so that the abbreviation of his coalition "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms" is recognized, noted Svetlin Tachev.
Commenting on the arrest of Ceyhan Ibryamov, the political scientist also said: "On the ground, there will be a clash between the two political formations and similar tactics will be used. The weak points of the people of both factions will be sought. This puts the campaign on an abominable level. This may disgust the DPS electorate and a part of it may not come out to vote. But it can also mobilize others who have not voted so far to take sides in the battle. In the future, DPS will not exist and we are watching the battle for the legacy of DPS".
