„In this situation, a very clear political responsibility must be assumed, the parties participating in the government must bear this responsibility through their key figures, and it must be clear who is responsible for what. Of course, there must be a coalition agreement. Of course, compromises must be made by all those participating in the government.“

„For me, the most political thing has always been for the leader of the first political force to take the post of prime minister. Our leader has shown several times in recent years that he is willing to take a step back from this political rule in the name of achieving some stability. "

This was commented on bTV Radio by Toma Bykov. He is a candidate for deputy from GERB-SDF, fourth on the list in the 23rd multi-mandate electoral district in Sofia, and a member of parliament in several parliaments.

Regarding the proposal of We Continue the Change for an equidistant prime minister, Bykov replied:

“Their proposal for me - I read it as a proposal to form an interim government. We believe that an interim government is not a solution to the political crisis. We had a temporary option in the person of the Denkov-Gabriel government, which failed to carry out its rotation, and because GERB was not fully included in it, it did not enjoy the public support that a government should certainly have. It had a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly, and its rating was lower than the rating of the government of Plamen Oresharski. This cannot lead to any stabilization and you see that after this rotation failed to take place, we are already going to a second early parliamentary election, in which the tension is even greater."

Unfortunately, he has no way and we have no way as a coalition with our colleagues from the UDF to solve this problem on our own. We are ready to compromise, we were ready to pay a very heavy political price and we did it, we lost 150,000 votes because of participation in the assembly, but unfortunately there are not enough other parties that are ready to pay this price. In my opinion, after these elections is the last chance for the parties in Bulgaria to pay the price they are expected to pay and serve the society, and not their narrow party interests. If they do not do it, we will all become redundant, warned the GERB MP.

"But my colleagues have the right to propose their formula for governance, just as we have the right to propose ours. From now on, Bulgarian citizens can make their own decision, and it is quite logical from a political point of view that the one who has gained greater trust and who is in first place, regardless of who he is, should set the formula for governance, and those who will participate should set their own conditions in terms of policies, personnel, structure and composition of the cabinet. But for me, expert governments are an opportunity to play the role of a screen behind which real decisions are made, but these decisions are not visible to Bulgarian citizens, which in no way will lead to an increase in trust in the institutions and in the political system, which already enjoys a sufficiently low level of trust.“, believes Toma Bikov.
