The former head of the “Security Police” Kalin Kolev was found dead in his car near the Yantra River in Gorna Oryahovitsa, the press center of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Veliko Tarnovo reported, BTA reported.
At the initial inspection, no visible signs of violence were found. The causes of death are in the process of being clarified, and pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
Kalin Kolev was missing since around 12:00 on October 2, Chief Inspector Mariyan Longinov, head of the Regional Police Department in Gorna Oryahovitsa, told journalists this morning. When he disappeared, he left his personal documents at his home, his car was not detected by cameras and there is no information that he was traveling on the republican road network during that period.
As FACTS already wrote, the man has been struggling with mental illness for several years and was removed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs system for this reason.
Law enforcement agencies have been looking for Kolev since October 2.
