The Ministry of Internal Affairs has started preparations for the elections in August 2024. A plan with specific activities has been developed. It coordinates the actions of the structures of the Ministry of the Interior, and regional headquarters have been formed in the Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior. In order to prevent cybercrimes during the elections, an expert group has been formed, said the director of the GDNP Miroslav Rashkov during a briefing of the National Interdepartmental Unit, Novini.bg reporter reported.

He reported that as of 9:00 a.m. on October 4, 41 reports of election violations and violation of citizens' electoral rights were filed. 12 in Varna, Plovdiv, Sofia. Out of 29 alerts, 2 are for election campaigning. 28 pre-trial proceedings were established. There are 12 people detained so far. 3 signals and 4 e-mails have been received on the open line.

The purpose of the National Interdepartmental Unit, created on the occasion of the upcoming 27.10.2024 early elections for the 51st National Assembly, is to coordinate the work and process the information received by the three institutions. Regional units are also created, which include regional prosecutors. The goal is maximum speed, said Vanya Stefanova - prosecutor from the Supreme Prosecutor's Office.
Stefanova revealed that in 2021, 22 people were convicted of vote buying. For the first six months of 2024, there are 12.

"The national interdepartmental unit was created on the occasion of the upcoming October 27 early elections for the 51st National Assembly. It is headed by Deputy Prosecutor General Elena Karakasheva.
